Been in touch with Mike via email and;

Due to a combination of dissatisfaction with the new Hostboard, issues with his account (hence why I'm posting this in his stead) and such, Mike's pretty sure he's going to pack up and ship us all out. Not sure where, yet. He's going to keep this board around and whatnot, but MikeJV's Femfight Board is officially on hiatus until he can find someplace to send us all.

I suppose those of you with his email can contact him that way if you have comments or questions, and those of you without it or who are just lazy can contact me and I guess I can forward your message to him.

Hey folks. I gave it another try and finally found and got logged in onto my board. What Malcore said is true, butafter talking with hm and some others I'm going to to try this set up through Jan 2009 and give hostboard a chance to fix all the bugs. I am still going to look for a new board and don't really car for this set up, but as long as I don't hit any majot obstacles I'll keep it open for you guys to use. Just shuting it down would be too harsh to everyone, but I do want youer opinions of the new set up. Oh, and for now the cencorship thing is on, i'll work on it tomorrow and try to find th off switch. Also, I want some volunteers for 2 moderators to help me run things, if I had help I could leave things as is as long as hostboard lets me.

Please recognize how much the accumulated Literature is is important too.

I just hope the glitches can be worked out. You deserve a board that works.

I rather hope if we PM you with our e-mails you can contact us if this is dropped before you find a new host.

Glad to read all this. I was really very very sad about the way things were going.
Unfortunately, I am not able to write short stories... Finding a new tent, as someone put it, or solving the issues would be an excelent thing to do.
Glad you don't let it down.
Hope we can work and read together, as before!

Hey Mike,

I'd second the idea of sticking to hostboards until the end of january. Sadly, they really damaged the old messages/stories. But we wouldn't have the old stories if we changed to another provider, too.

Worst thing is the censor. Did you turn off the "censor words" options for this board? Does that help?

Only other problem is the char limit. But still, it's 10.000 chars and as far as I know, most of the other board systems have a similiar limitation. Does anony know hostboard's char limit to one post before they set up the new software version?

Boardhost, the provider used by Kim&Ginny's and others, is much worse, in my opinion. If we couldn't find a web hoster supporting us, like freecatfights.com does with its board, I don't think there's a very good alternative hoster.

But we shouldn't have a technical discussion here: let the fists fly and the nails and teeth dig deep into soft skin. And if it doesn't dig here at hostboards, we'll knock them out in one month. ;-)
